Wow. That's a heartbreaking piece, but undeniably true.

I didn't want to have to agree with this piece.

But I did, for the most part.

The NRA Wants the Law Protecting Trayvon Martin's Killer in All 50 States

The proliferation of these laws is part of a deliberate lobbying campaign by the NRA. In 2005, at the NRA's urging, Florida became the first state to pass a "stand your ground" law. Before that, most states required you to retreat from a confrontation unless you were inside your own home. Now 24 states have these "stand your ground" laws, which critics call "shoot first" laws (Gawker's pseudonymous blogger "Mobuto Sese Seko" calls the laws "a great, legally roving murder bubble") because they authorize citizens to use deadly force even if the person who makes them feel threatened is, like Martin, unarmed.

Assuming the "How to Talk To Young Black Boys About Trayvon Martin" piece was anonymous, would you have any comment about it?

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I think TourÉ is wrong, and provably so, about the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. That he holds a wrong opinion on that topic has nothing to do with this article, the subject of which he has some experience and expertise in.

No, a stopped clock is. A broken clock may be wrong all the time.

Stay on topic please.

I think Touré is very wrong for being a truther, and if there were elements of this article that were conspiratorial, I'd likewise have problems with them. But there aren't. It's a very well-written and apropos article.

Funny this should be posted today: my youngest child asked me why people hate Jews. I only hope I did as well with mine as this author did.
